Stewy's RETRO started out as a wide ranging music show back in 1996. Initially focusing on the history and behind-the-scenes information of 2 or 3 artists or bands on each 3 hour Wednesday night show - it has evolved into the wicked beast of a programme that can now be heard every Tuesday from 4pm for 5 hours.

A major change was put in place in 2000, when after a year break from broadcasting Stewy decided to totally rehash his programme, changing his day and timeslot, including interviews and other segments into the show and steering the music mix to the best, and worst, of pop, rock, dance and some heavy metal music from the 70's, 80's and 90's as well as new releases not yet available to the public.

Stewy's RETRO is the real deal - music, music and more music. No talkback, no long-winded political discussions and no diatribe from people who don't know what their talking about! What counts most is the music that we've grown up with - the soundtrack to our lives and the musicians that make it happen.

Each 5 hour show now includes some 50 to 60 songs as well as news, weather, the latest in music news, relevant info from the Community Bulletin Board, the request line, the hugely popular 'sick' song of the night at the end of each show, and of course - those interviews!

The past 18 months have seen The Screaming Jets, Ross Wilson, The Superjesus, James Reyne, Mark Seymour, The Radiators, Ian Moss, Diesel, The Choirboys, Candice Alley, The Angels, Ganggajang, 10CC, The Stranglers, The Sweet, Spandau Ballet, ABC, Go West and Semisonic appearing on the show. More recently, Fee Waybill, lead singer of american band The Tubes, The Hoodoo Gurus, Jon Stevens from Noiseworks, Grinspoon and Iva Davies from Icehouse have been on for a chat.
